Our homemade Wine Rack<\/p><\/div>\n

Last week was Earth Week and it got me thinking about all the wonderful ways we recycle and reuse. \u00a0Having just finished making a lovely wine rack out of a used wood pallet <\/a>(photo above), I started digging for more ideas. I couldn’t believe all the creative uses for pallets or skids, both inside and out, so I thought I’d share some of \u00a0my favourites.<\/p>\n

1. Shelves<\/span><\/strong><\/em>
\nJust like the Wine Rack above, pallets are naturals for shelving in any room of the house.<\/p>\n

\nThere were tons of hamper suggestions, my favourite came from 101Pallets.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n

3. Coffee Table<\/strong><\/em><\/span>
\nIndoors or out, there are plenty of creative designs to transform your pallets into functional tables.<\/p>\n

4. Pet Beds<\/span><\/strong><\/em>
\nRustic, easy to do, and cost effective. \u00a0What more could you ask for? The how-to is here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

5. Patio Swing<\/span><\/em><\/strong>
\nMany homes offer the charm of a front porch, just like our Verandas in Port Hope<\/a>. \u00a0How about your own swing, made simply and inexpensively? \u00a0I got the DIY instructions from Decoist<\/a>.<\/p>\n

6. \u00a0Garden Storage<\/strong><\/em><\/span>

\nBack right where we started, DIY Wine Rack! \u00a0On the left is the inspiration<\/a> for our project, and the right is our finished product. Suggestion? \u00a0I think I’d make two rows to hold more wine, but \u00a0I really like having the place for the wine glasses below.<\/p>\n
